What Are the HVAC Options Across the Lehigh Valley?
HVAC Lehigh Valley: A valley-wide search for heating and cooling companies, rather than one city at a time. Our directory tracks five: three in Allentown, and one each in Bethlehem and Easton. Existing coverage on this site has been city-specific — an Allentown guide and a Bethlehem emergency-repair guide — so this is the first comparison that puts all five side by side. Together they carry 5,945 reviews in our directory data, and four of the five clear a 4.9 rating — a consistently strong field, with the real differences showing up in hours and accessibility rather than quality.
Local rule of thumb: Don't assume an HVAC company keeps emergency hours just because heating and cooling failures don't wait for business hours. Of the five we track across the Valley, only three — Services United, Comfort Solutions HVAC, and Curtis Total Service — list themselves as open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The other two, ACE Hardware Home Services and Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing, close evenings and both weekend days. Check before you assume a Saturday callout is covered.
Which HVAC Company Has the Deepest Review Record?
ACE Hardware Home Services on W Fairview St in Allentown holds 1,876 reviews at a 4.9 rating in our directory data — the most of any HVAC company we track in the Valley, and well ahead of the next closest. It sits in the mid price range. Its hours run Monday through Friday, 7am to 8pm, with no Saturday or Sunday hours, so it is not one of the 24-hour options despite its size. It reports a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking.
Which HVAC Companies Are Open 24/7?
Three of the five run around the clock, every day: Services United on Emrick Blvd in Bethlehem (1,165 reviews, 4.9 rating), Comfort Solutions HVAC on Corriere Rd in Easton (1,088 reviews, 4.9 rating, mid price range), and Curtis Total Service on E Pennsylvania St in Allentown (892 reviews, 4.6 rating, mid price range). Services United and Comfort Solutions HVAC are each the only HVAC company we track in their respective city, so a 24-hour option is available in Bethlehem and Easton alike. Comfort Solutions HVAC and Curtis Total Service both report a free parking lot; Services United does not list a parking type in Google's data.
What Makes Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing Different?
Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing on Union Blvd in Allentown holds 924 reviews at a 4.9 rating in our directory data. It keeps the same Monday-through-Friday, 7am-5pm schedule as ACE Hardware, with no weekend hours. It stands out on accessibility: it is the only one of the five reporting a full set in verified Google data — wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking, restroom, and seating all checked. No other HVAC company in this group reports all four.
Does Rating Tell the Whole Story?
Mostly, but not entirely. Four of the five HVAC companies we track clear a 4.9 rating: ACE Hardware Home Services, Services United, Comfort Solutions HVAC, and Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing. Curtis Total Service is the outlier at 4.6 — still a solidly positive rating backed by 892 reviews in our directory data, just the one company in this group with any real separation from the rest. It is also the only one of the five that lists credit cards as an accepted payment method in Google's data, for what that is worth when comparing options.
Which Is Most Accessible?
Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing is the only one of the five reporting a full accessibility set — entrance, parking, restroom, and seating. ACE Hardware Home Services and Services United each report two features (entrance and parking). Curtis Total Service reports one (entrance). Comfort Solutions HVAC does not list any accessibility features in Google's data, which may mean the feature is not present or simply was not reported — worth a call ahead if accessibility is a requirement.
How Do the Three Allentown Options Compare to Each Other?
Allentown has more HVAC options in our directory than either other city — three, against one each in Bethlehem and Easton. Among the three, ACE Hardware Home Services carries by far the deepest review record at 1,876, more than double Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing's 924 and more than double Curtis Total Service's 892. Hours split them differently: ACE Hardware and Edwin Stipe both keep Monday-through-Friday schedules with no weekend coverage, while Curtis Total Service is the only one of the three open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On rating, ACE Hardware and Edwin Stipe both sit at 4.9; Curtis Total Service is the only one of the three at 4.6. If you are choosing among the three purely on location within Allentown, hours and whether you need weekend or emergency coverage are the more useful filters than rating, since two of the three are functionally tied there.
How Do Price Tiers Compare?
Three of the five HVAC companies we track list a price tier in Google's data, and all three land in the same mid ($) range: ACE Hardware Home Services, Comfort Solutions HVAC, and Curtis Total Service. Services United and Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing do not list a price tier at all in Google's data, which is common for service trades where cost depends heavily on the specific job rather than a posted rate. Price is not a strong way to differentiate this group — where a tier is listed, it is consistently mid-range, so hours, review depth, and accessibility are the more useful points of comparison.
What Should You Know Before You Call?
- 24/7 coverage means three specific companies: Services United, Comfort Solutions HVAC, and Curtis Total Service. The other two keep weekday-only hours.
- Review depth varies widely: from 1,876 at ACE Hardware Home Services down to 892 at Curtis Total Service, though all five carry substantial review histories.
- Rating is consistent except one: four of five sit at 4.9; Curtis Total Service is the one at 4.6.
- Accessibility is strongest at one company: Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing is the only one with a full, verified set.
- Bethlehem and Easton each have exactly one option: Services United and Comfort Solutions HVAC respectively, and both happen to be 24-hour operations.
Bottom Line: Five Companies, a Clear Split on Hours
All five HVAC companies in the Lehigh Valley that we track carry substantial review histories and mostly strong ratings, so the real decision point is hours and accessibility rather than quality. If a round-the-clock option matters, Services United, Comfort Solutions HVAC, and Curtis Total Service are the three that cover it. If review depth and accessibility matter more and weekday hours work for your schedule, ACE Hardware Home Services and Edwin Stipe HVAC & Plumbing lead on those points respectively.
