What People Are Saying About Apotheca Salon and Boutique

“Although the hairstylist was very nice, I had asked for my hair to be cut to my collarbone at a slightly shorter length than the inspo picture (I have the inspo image attached below). I used my hands to clearly show where I wanted it cut. As you can see, my hair is now 1-2 inches ABOVE my shoulders making it a 3-4 inch difference between what was asked for and what was done. She had started cutting from the back of my head so I couldn’t say anything before she cut the rest of my hair. Ignoring length, the haircut also looks nothing like the inspo pic. The salon only refunded 30 dollars of a 67 dollar haircut (counting tip the haircut was 80 dollars) for something I never wanted. Wouldn’t come again.”

“Andrea Sumner is my hairstylist. I really like her. She’s very kind and ask you exactly what you want. She cuts my hair perfect and I am very satisfied.”

“I am the type of person to always leave positive reviews but this unfortunately is where I am at. I came in for a color appointment where I was told one thing and delivered another. I received a botched "balayage" and was told to wash it 6 or 7 times and I'd like the color better or only then should I come back in. It wasnt only the color that was the problem, it was the overall "bleach and tone" look that was done leaving a ring of roots about 3 inches around the base of my head and blotchy lightened ends worse than if I had applied it myself at home. I had called that same day because it was just not ok and told if I wanted it corrected I had to go to the same person who didn't have any evening or weekend availability. I took PTO to come back in and all that was done was a bleach wash and a new toner, no correction to the lightening/roots...and I was CHARGED for a blowout. I ultimately paid over $300 for a horrible job and the salon didn't reach out at all following the experience. After getting my hair fixed somewhere else and taking time to let this pass by, I just couldn't let it go. I reached out to speak to management in hopes this would help prevent a situation like this from happening again and to possibly get at least the additional charge for the blowout refunded. I was told to send pictures and after two weeks of no response I followed up. I get a two-sentence response saying because I waited to follow up about my experience they would not be refunding me. Their salon posts beautiful hair on their instagram and I believe the majority of their staff put out great work but the way they handled this experience just sits terribly with me. I hope this prevents anything like this from happening in the future.”

“Had an appointment scheduled for 5pm today as a new client. Due to a crazy work schedule, I had to cancel and made sure I called as soon as the salon opened. The lady on the phone said “it’s up to the hair stylist if you are charged” and said “I will call you back if we charge you”. I was then charged 50% of the service fee on my credit card. The owner was nice over the phone, and said it’s not up to the stylist but did not offer any refund despite explanation and poor management of the situation. I am not one to leave a bad review, but very dissatisfied with overall experience.”

“I went to the same hairstylist for years and moved back to town and I was so nervous to try to find a new salon. I came here because her friend bought me a gift card… and I’m so glad she did! The vibes are great and the salon is cute and clean! Carissa is great and I totally trust her with my hair.”
